Your Money

All money paid to Ethos Tours will be held, as protection against insolvency, in a trust fund managed by Nat West Bank, until such time as the tour is completed.

Bookings

Bookings can be made via our website initially through a payment of a deposit. In order to facilitate secure payments we use PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to complete a transaction. Payment of the deposit is necessary to reserve your place on the tour.

Insurance

It is your responsibility to arrange full 24 hour emergency accident, breakdown and recovery cover for your bike and personal and medical cover for yourself. Advice on this can be offered on the above number. In addition you will need to carry an EHI card (replacement for E111), these are free and available at www.ehicard.org.

Cancellation

A minimum of 2 bikes are necessary for a tour to take place. If within two weeks of departure this minimum is not reached the tour will be cancelled. If the tour has to be cancelled for this reason or for other reasons that are out of our control you will be offered a refund and/or a place on another tour.

If you cancel the following charges shall apply: 4 weeks before departure your deposit, within 4 weeks the entire cost of the tour.

Tour Options

Upgrades on accommodation, ferry crossings, etc., are available and should be discussed with us at the time of booking.

Changes in the Tour Itinerary

Because the Tours are planned a long time in advance it is not possible to determine what changes may be necessary when it takes place. If a significant change of route or destination is unavoidable, you will be notified and a full refund offered.

Delays

Although we shall endeavour to overcome any difficulties and complications we may encounter we cannot be held responsible for delays that are beyond our control, i.e. late or cancelled ferries, weather, terrorism, war, traffic congestion, industrial disputes, etc.

We will ensure that all aspects of the tour outlined in the brochure are booked and all efforts will be taken to ensure that all arrangements are made with reputable third parties. However, we cannot be held responsible for amenities at destinations which are beyond our control.

All riders are expected to treat all other members of the tour, and other road users, with respect at all times. Therefore, it must be understood that dangerous and discourteous riding is unacceptable.

All riders and pillions are responsible for ensuring that they abide by local laws and that in any event where there is a breach of such law, they are responsible for any penalty that may ensue.

All riders are responsible for the decisions they make whilst riding their motorcycle.

All riders must ensure that their motorcycles are in a sound mechanical condition and that there is no reason to suspect that their bike will fail to complete the tour.

All riders should be honest with themselves about their motorcycling experience and skills. Riders with limited experience (less than one year or who have not ridden abroad before) must inform us.

All riders should ensure that they are physically capable of finishing the tour.

We advise upon Emergency breakdown cover (above) and will assume that all necessary cover has been taken out. If a motorcycle suffers a breakdown, or accident damage, it is therefore the sole responsibility of the rider. However, we will offer all reasonable assistance if such a situation was to arise. We cannot be held responsible in such cases and the tour will be obliged to continue without you. Hopefully, you would be able to rejoin the tour at a later date. However, if this is impossible, we cannot be held responsible for mechanical or accidental damage and will be unable to refund the cost of the tour – this should be covered by your insurance.

If a rider or pillion, for whatever reason, decides to leave the tour they will not be eligible for a refund.

Riders who fail to ensure that their bike is in a safe (tyres, breaks, lights, etc.) and mechanically sound condition, who demonstrate a serious lack of experience and/or skills, or who fail to declare a medical condition that impedes their ability to ride will be required to leave the tour on Health and Safety grounds. In such circumstances a rider/pillion will not be eligible for a refund.

All necessary personal and motorcycle documentation is carried.

Passports and Visas

Riders with EU passports should carry their passport (or I.D. cards) with them at all times. Riders with passports from outside the EU should check visa requirements.

Motorcycle Documentation

You will need your Registration Documentation, MOT certificate (where needed), Insurance Certificate (check that it includes cover for the EU, and Bail Bond cover for Spain), and your Driving License
