This is the most comprehensive and ambitious tour in our programme to date. But what a tour - 21 days through France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Italy. The sights are extraordinary and the weather mostly superb. We visit the Alps, Budapest, the Danube (regularly), Olympia and many of the other ancient sites of Greece, Pompeii, Rome, Verona and back through the ever popular regions of Southern France, stopping at Avignon on the way. Almost too much to take in!
This tour is only recommended for riders who have a real enthusiasm for the open road and a strong and reliable bike.
Primary tour runs in September, although we can also offer the tour in June and July (also August but Greece can become uncomfortably hot at this time), if the demand is there.

The Balkan Tour heads south through Austria over the Grossglockner and down to the mountains of Slovenia. Here the tour enjoys beautiful mountain framed lakes and the picturesque Fishing villages found all along the coast.
Then its
the remarkable Dalmation coast. Its beauty is astounding and
although the main coast road can become busy at the height of summer it
is still possible to find some memorable rides along some quiet roads.
This is particularly true if the tour does some Island hopping down the
coast – small ferries frequently connect the multitude of islands just
of the coast to the mainland and to each other.
The next 2/3 days is spent exploring this extraordinary coastline until
the tour reaches the historic town of Dubrovnik. A days rest here is
followed by a ferry to Bari and the ride back through Italy as described
in the previous section on the Greece and the East Tour.
This is a new Tour this year and we are very excited about it as it
offers such great diversity of experiences and a real feel of being on
the road.
